Painting Together with Acrylics, Episode 4
This episode is Part of the Painting Together with Acrylics live video series – learn more here
Let’s keep an eye on detail. Relying on small details can really make a painting look more interesting and give it a wow factor. Join me, Gigi Chen, and fellow artists from around the world as we embark on this acrylic painting adventure together.
In this lesson, you’ll learn:
- How to paint an eye in acrylic paint
- Basic acrylic painting techniques
- Light and shadow effects
- How to mix acrylic paints
How does this work? Join me live on Thursdays at 3PM Eastern and I’ll lead you through a finished painting. Follow along if you’d like or watch the video and paint along at your own pace. You’ll find the materials below. When you’re done, visit Artistsnetwork.com/Painting-together and share your work!
I’ll start with a drawing already transferred to a panel. To learn how this happens, watch this video: https://youtu.be/p_iTm1B3iEA

I’m an amateur artist and this was my very first time painting an eye or any human anatomy. I only do silhouettes. Gigi is amazing!!! Thank you so much for guiding me through that and I hope you don’t mind my personal touch. I needed to find an eye color closer to mine and came across your video (everyone else painted only blue eyes). I needed it painted by 9/11/22 the 20th anniversary. You not only helped me achieve my goal, but kept me busy in one of the hardest days of the year for me. Thank you.
Thank you!
I am so happy to see this! This is wonderful! Your colors are spot on and the proportions are good too.
Thanks for this class I learned a lot.
