Today, I’m working with:

- Kneaded and Rubber Erasers
In this session, we’ll cover:
- Drawing a realistic wave
- Realistic drawing techniques
- Capturing the movement and energy of the ocean
Here is my wave.

So many interesting marks–I learned so much and felt like I was at the beach.
This was tricky and challenging, but such an interesting variety of marks. I learned so much. . .to be continued! Thanks for the thoughtful instruction.
WOW! I love all the waves. They’re great! I didn’t dislike my waves in the back…and I was okay with my waves in the front. But I didn’t like them together. They struggled with one another…maybe because I kept seeing a horizon line with a sky. I’ll do it again. Waves are really hard but we all LOVE them! HA!
Nice. I struggled with the waves behind…. I like how your foreground sweeps up!
This one is exceptional to me!
There’s some good drawing happening here, Irene! Great mark-making.
I’m glad to hear it. Your drawing looks great!
Wonderful work!
This looks great, Giselle!
This looks great, Cindy! It’s tough finding the balance between rendering it enough, vs “overworking” it. I think this looks great!
You captured the energy of the wave well! I know what you mean about the crest being stressful. It’s a tricky part of the drawing!
That’s great to hear. This drawing looks great!
Very nice work!
I found this difficult
Enjoyed doing the wave. Never did ocean in charcoal.
I thoroughly enjoyed drawing the waves. It was very calming.
The crest of the waves were very stressful to replicate ?
I didn’t want to over work it, but i think it needs more work. ?
I can hear the waves.
Wow, I like it.
Looks great!
Very cool
Looks really good. Mine looks like nothing
Here’s my wave. Never done the sea in charcoal usually in colour so it was great to learn the different techniques.
This was fun! Not sure I got the overall movement quite right with that tricky shadow on the water on the left side. First time drawing the ocean!
Loved doing this one.
