Today, I’m working with:
- Hahnemuhle Drawing Paper
- Ebony Pencil (4B or darker soft graphite pencil will work great)
- Kneaded and Rubber Erasers
- Cretacolor Nero Pencil (I’m going to test this one out)
In this session, we’ll cover:
- Drawing a Strawberry
- Realistic drawing techniques
- Drawing light
- Capturing details
- Controlling Proportions
I’m obsessed with getting this right so sorry I’m posting another berry! This is about as good as I can get it. I fixed the proportion a little. It still has some other “issues” but this is about it for me. Onto the peach!!
Worked on it a little more. Not perfect but a bit better I think.
I feel like it’s a strawberry but maybe not the one in the picture!
Another challenging episode! Liked the tip to suggest the seeds.
Here’s my berry. Lost track of the seed map in seconds!!! LOL Fun one to do!!
My strawberry
I find that I like working with graphite more than charcoal even though it can be as messy.
The strawberry was harder than it looked. I used charcoal and then struggled getting bright enough highlights for some reason. Thanks Scott for the advice during the lesson on using fixative then going back with white charcoal-it helped. Some spots got a little blue-gray. Oops. Overall, not bad I guess.
