Drawing Together Episode 2: Keeping in Line

Join me, Scott Maier, in exploring the art of landscape drawing. What’s the challenge today? Well, I have a photo of one of my favorite local spots and the light is not great. The lines in the landscape are beautiful though, so that’s what I’m really excited by!

I’m using:
- Drawing Paper
- Prismacolor Ebony Pencil
- General’s Charcoal Pencil (2B)
- Rubber Eraser
- Kneaded Eraser
Tried to do a Vietnam countryside, lines only.
Practicing atmospheric perspective with my line drawing.
This is my landscape line drawing. I used different pencil weights and Ebony pencil. Adjusted the composition to make it more interesting to me.
This is my landscape. Learned a lot.
I enjoyed doing this, but found it very hard to make my lines look like anything. Maybe not enough key details
II wasn’t all that happy with this…I put the focal point in the middle, Didn’t vary my line weights enough and just was not that thrilled with it. I might work on it more….but….
